Haunted Houses in Formby Village?
Tower Grange and no. 4 Grange Lane , Formby Village are pleasant looking black and white houses that date back to 'The Doomsday Book'. It may be pleasant looking but they have according to the owners a 'ghostly' secret. A 'priest hole' is positioned between the two cottages and it is here that the ghostly presence emanates from.
The ghostly monk haunts Tower Grange (Formby Village, Merseyside). The priest's skeleton  (dressed in a black habbit) was unearthed in a priests hole, which is thought to be the remains of the ghost. Does he stay near to continue to protect the occupants? When will his vigil end?
What horror's was he hiding from that he was prepared to die rather than come out. The ghostly cleric has been seen by the owners of no.4 and dog's will not stay in the cottage.
The Grange was built on the grounds of Whalley Abbey, and it is thought that the ghost is that of a monk, who chose to die of hunger and thirst rather than betray the people who sheltered him.
